A behind the scenes look of a college radio station!

I'm sure most of you have listened to the radio on your morning drive to work or school. Ever wonder where exactly the hosts are broadcasting from? How do they manage their shows? How do they play the music? The pictures below may answer some of your questions. Keep in mind, this is a small college radio station. Corporate radio stations are much bigger, with more equipment.

The classic call letters and numbers of Doane University's radio station.

This is Studio B! Myself and the rest of the KDNE employees use this room to record pretty much everything for the station, including promotions, sweepers, and PSA's. We also use these computers to put in all of our music into our system to use!

This is Studio C! This is the smallest room in the station and is used mainly for recording as well. It's also used for writing scripts for Doane's weekly TV newscast, DCTV.

These last two photos feature Studio A! This room is where the magic happens folks. All hosted KDNE shows are broadcasted from this studio. All of our current shows are performed live, so picture one host running the board and computers, while at least one other host is sitting on the other side of the desk, making conversation with them. All of the computers in this studio were also just recently updated this, with one of them being a touch screen monitor. So, if you're ever listening to a show hosted by a KDNE employee, this is where we're sitting.

Last but not least, is "The Vault". This is where we keep all of the station's merchandise and hardware. There are also plenty of relics from the historic past of KDNE. The computer featured in this picture is also the one where fix any system problems that the station is having.

I hope you enjoyed this virtual tour of Doane's very own radio station!
